I’m experimenting with a homemade horchata recipe here on the East coast, to bring a little East LA flavor to our open house on Sunday.  My recipe will include agave.  Who doesn’t love agave?

If all goes well, I’ll use this same recipe for our New Years Eve party on Monday.  (Yes, you are invited.)

Apparently proper horchata requires some overnight soaking.  Seems easy enough.

Step 1: Combine in a bowl & let rest:

2 cups long grain white rice

16 cups of hot water

3 cinnamon sticks

Step 2: Go to Bed.
