Last week (you might have noticed from my psycho-live-blogging), I was at the Idea Camp DC, Justice Edition. I sat in on an unreal discussion that included an incredible non-profit you should know about: A Child’s Right
A Child’s Right is a water relief organization that cares specifically for institutionalized children in countries such as China, Nepal, Cambodia, and Ethiopia. They have provided over 200,000 children clean drinking water since their inception.
That is phenomenal.
The old water these kids drank? It was water with fecal waste, dirt, and bacterial contamination 209 times the safe standard.
I’m inviting all of us to be a part of this Clean Water Challenge: How much would someone have to pay YOU to drink dirty water?
Two years. 150,000 children. One Mission: Clean water.
A Child’s Right is the only water relief organization whose sole focus is bringing aid to vulnerable children in urban centers. In two years they have brought clean, safe drinking water to over 150,000 children in cities around the world.
In 2009, They will bring aid to 75,000 more.

What a great post about safe drinking water. A Child’s Right is a phenomenal organization doing some great work.
I work for Healing Waters International (http://www.healingwatersintl.org). We have a similar model to ACR, working in urban areas. We build water systems in poor urban slums in Latin America and provide a source of safe drinking water for the community. We serve about 130,000 people per day and can track every gallon distributed from our systems.
Keep fighting the good fight for safe drinking water.
