  • In-class Discussion RE: Sexual Ethics; Conclusions “One step towards having a good sex life: cultivate generosity in all spheres of your life.” Jenelle 2 responses November 13, 2008

  • Betty and Aaron In my Ethics class this morning, Dr. Dufault-Hunter talked about virtue ethics and the way our character develops. She told a story from her church community about Betty and Aaron.  Betty and Aaron were both widowers who married in their 80s.  In their consummate cuteness, they decided to celebrate their anniversaries every month because they […] Jenelle One response October 16, 2008
  • She is Like the Merchant Ships The bulk of my days, at the moment, is spent in a classroom studying the Hebrew Writings. In the Hebrew Scriptures, the Writings include some of my favorite books: Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song o’ Songs, et cetera. Today we spent considerable time talking about Proverbs, that ever so not-linear, non-narrative book. We love to take […] Jenelle 8 responses August 19, 2008
  • Thou Shalt Not Covet. Fuller sent this nice coupon to me in the mail upon my seminary graduation. Please contain your jealousies. Jenelle 5 responses July 2, 2008
  • Graduation Station Today I graduate from Fuller with my M.A. in Global Leadership. I started this program while I was still in Portugal, a couple of years ago. The MAGL is an online degree that allowed me to stay in my full-time job while being in a global cohort of learners. We learned a great deal together, […] Jenelle 14 responses June 14, 2008

  • Making Like a Cylinder I have made like a cylinder and graduated.  I now have a Masters from Fuller’s School of Intercultural Studies.  Hooray.  The walking-across-the-stage ceremony of boredom isn’t until next Saturday, but now we are trying on gowns and such. I am excited because this time around we all get to wear a blue hooded/extra-long necklace type […] Jenelle 8 responses June 4, 2008
  • Oh Origen, oh so unoriginal. Tonight I am writing a paper for my phenomenal New Testament class on “Women, the Bible, and the Church,” with Dr. David Scholer. We are unabashedly studying the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is a class on how women in the church have been treated over the ages, and why. We’re reading a […] Jenelle 4 responses April 29, 2008
  • Leafy and Feeling Powerful! I am turning over one of those new proverbial leafy things. It is the first week of the Spring quarter at Fuller. I am taking a full load of classes, while working 25-30 hours each week. And so, before classes even started, I talked myself into finishing almost two of the many books required for […] Jenelle 7 responses March 31, 2008
  • A Janela It took me two quarters to learn that Fuller’s campus (unofficially) extends to The Zephyr, a coffeehouse about four miles east. At Zephyr they play excellent music on the speakers. The coffee is good. They have big, cushy chairs, and interesting art on the walls. And today I realized just how lovely are their windowsills. […] Jenelle 3 responses March 20, 2008
  • A Tale of Two Presidents Dr. Richard Mouw is Fuller’s president. He tends to say things in public about Jesus and America that makes a great deal of intelligent sense, because they echo the gospel. He makes me proud to be a Fuller student. George W. Bush is our nation’s president. He often says and does things that embarrass me […] Jenelle No responses March 4, 2008
