Well, in the last week since I’ve become a slacker-pants blogger, a few things have happened.
1. Wildfires tore through Westmont college, Montecito, and other areas around Los Angeles. Scary because there are a whole host of people that I deeply love in these places.
2. I found out what it was like to SMS, Skype, and forum-search through a fire-emergency. Relieved all are safe, though some lost everything.
3. Sweet Dom came to visit me from Portland for my birthday to run in our half-marathon.
4. I awoke at 4:40am on my day of birth to find that the half-marathon was cancelled. Oh, smokey wildfire air. You are no good for runners. (Or, for half-trained joggers like me.)
5. We quick road-tripped to Santa Barbara where Elise opened up for Tyrone Wells. Following the show she surprised me with the most epic birthday global-hug ever…the Martin o’ my dreams. Made possible with the help of a long list of beautiful people. You know who you are.
6. I’ve been completely over-run by papers, overdue projects, and other savories.
7. I discovered that the following are good for my soul on Friday afternoons: homemade hot tamales, outdoor seating, and live piano. All at the local coffee dig.
8. And, Twitter is more fun than I thought. I’m now following Shaq. As in, Shaq. (Mashable says it’s really him. A genius for his marketing.) His updates are amusing. Wonder if he’ll get my tweet and answer…
Your tweets are funny and make me smile. They help me not notice that you are being a delinquent blogger, M.I.A.
i am a blogging slacker pants too – much more than you. no posts since sept 30 for me. ack. i need to get on that.
Happy belated birthday, by the way. forgive my slacker-friend-lateness in sending you best wishes and many rib-aching-tear-inducing-giggles in your year of the 29th. i love you dear one. 🙂
