Well, it’s been a good run. After spending 3+ years riding this baby around Pasadena, I’m taking the plunge. I’m going to buy a car. Goodbye (for the most part), infinity per gallon.
I’ve been researching cars for the last 6 weeks. And I’ve been talking to car dealerships and private sellers so much that they are all courting me. (They’re so forward in asking for your phone number outright.) Let’s be honest. I’ve been impressing said car-courtship-fellows with how much I know about these cars.
Best quote was from Angel, the current Carmaxy overseer of the Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed: “Wow!! I didn’t know a Hatchback could have that much horsepower! You really know what you’re looking for, honey.” He then proceeded to quasi ask me out on a date. Oh, mercy. No, Angel.
I plan to start test driving around October 21. Might you like to vote on the finalists? (Vote on the models not the colors, obviously.)

I saw a green Fiesta in real life today!
They’re really really real! 🙂 They get close to 40mpg, highway. Insane.
I vote for either of the mazdas. mine is an 08 and I love it. I don’t think it has that amazing of gas mileage but everything else is perfectly dreamy.
I think those Mazdas are dreamy, too 🙂 Your’s isn’t a Mazdaspeed, is it? I am amazed at how fast those ones are. Super super fun.
I say the Toyota but a brand new car would be awesome elite.
